Description: Peninsula Cantare is an adult, auditioned chorus dedicated to presenting high quality choral performances of classical repertoire to its listening audience.

Mission: Peninsula Cantare's mission is to sing interesting and varied music with the purpose of keeping alive the great tradition of choral masterpieces and to explore newly composed works.

Auditions: Yes, held at Cañada College in August-September and January. Auditions include an acceptable choral tone; vocal skill to demonstrate accurate pitch and rhythm.

History:

The choir was founded in 1971 as the Peninsula Master Chorale at Cañada College by Carl Sitton. In January 2007 Peninsula Cantare returned to Cañada College after a period as an independent nonprofit organization. The group has toured Europe and Australia and toured Brazil in the summer of 2007.
