Basic Information

Description: This is a volunteer educational chorus, open to the general public.

Mission: The study and performance of choral works for large ensemble.
Emphasis: Masterworks with instrumental accompaniment; usually an extended work (30 minutes) with shorter works to complement program. We have performed opera choruses, Christmas in the British Isles, A French Christmas, Navidad-Christmas from the Hispanic tradition, and Missa Criolla and Gospel Mass by Ray Roberts.
Size: 75-125
Concerts/Year: 4-6
Auditions: Yes, held at Solano Community College during the first two weeks of school, usually at the first or second meeting. Auditions require a solo, scales to assess range, tonal memory, sight reading, singing one part of a 4-part chorale.
Dues: Approximately $35 per semester, plus music scores
Dress: Tuxedos and black dresses
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 7-10 pm, Rm. 1239 Solano CC, 4000 Suisun Valley Rd, Fairfield
