Basic Information

Description: This is an amateur, community, special interest, women's chorus, open to the general public. We try to perform with the Sacramento Men's Chorus at least once a year.

Mission: Sacramento Women's Chorus is a non-profit group of lesbian, bisexual, and straight women who are building a community through our love of music, dedication to musical excellence and commitment to performing music which reflects the lives of women.

True Colors Women's Chorus makes about a dozen appearances a year on behalf of women, the environment, peace & justice, LGBT equal rights, tolerance and the celebration of diversity.

Through our music we empower ourselves and our audiences, giving voice to the strengths, hopes and dreams of all women.
Emphasis: A cappella, occasionally accompanied. Most of our music is by or about women--mostly new music.
Size: 20-24
Concerts/Year: 10-14 appearances plus two complete concerts
Auditions: TRUE COLORS is not an audition chorus, however you will be asked to sing for voice placement purposes. Voice placements are held once a month and by appointment. To schedule an audition, contact the Director, Jim Parr, at (916) 985-3780.
Dues: $15 per month
Dress: Carefully coordinated "regular clothing " that compliments the individual.
Rehearsals: Monday, 6:45-8:45 pm, , , Sacramento
