Basic Information

Description: This is a very selective chamber chorus, open only to CSU East Bay students.

Year Estab: 1957
Mission: To develop musical and choral performance skills and awareness of a wide variety of significant literature with performances, both in local concerts and on tour, that strive for the highest degree of musical excellence.
Emphasis: Music written for a chamber ensemble of voices, particularly music of the Renaissance and the 20th and 21st centuries.
Size: 16
Concerts/Year: 1-2 per quarter, and three-day Spring Tour
Auditions: Yes, held at CSUH at the beginning of each quarter (end of September, beginning of January, and middle of March). Auditions are rigorous, and include singing a short song, sight reading, pitch retention, general vocal technique.
Dues: Regular tuition
Dress: Women: black dress; men: tuxedo
Rehearsals: Monday; Wednesday, 1:20 p.m. to 2:10 p.m., Music Building, CSUH, Room 1055, 25800 Carlos Bee Boulevard, Hayward
