Basic Information

Description: This is a community, recreational, special interest chorus, open to the general public.
Year Estab: 1997
Mission: To introduce people to solo and choral jazz singing and jazz repertoire. To assist people in developing singing skills and interpretative/performing skills. To empower people to enrich their lives through a shared musical experience. To enhance appreciation for jazz as a classical American art form.
Emphasis: Jazz, all kinds.
Size: 10-25
Concerts/Year: 3 to 4, maybe more
Auditions: No
Dues: $50 for 10 weeks.
Dress: Informal to dress-up.
Rehearsals: Tuesday (Albany), 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Albany High School, 655 Key Route Boulevard, Albany

Comments: The instructor has a BA in Jazz Studies and is one of the original members of the Oakland Jazz Choir. He has performed at clubs all over the Bay Area and has toured with the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir.
