Description: This is a semi-professional organization, open to the general public.

Mission: To produce opera in English for the general public and student audiences and to make opera accessible to an ever greater number of people. Sonoma City Opera will present only American opera through the Millennium.
Emphasis: Opera performances in English.
Size: Varies depending on opera.
Concerts/Year: 3-Feb
Auditions: Yes. We audition principals and chorus, and also just call on people whose voices we know. Those auditioning usually are required to sing two songs, including one in English. Principals usually are required to do some line reading.
Dress: We give fully-staged performances with costumes.
