Basic Information

Description: This is an amateur, special interest chorus, open to the general public after prior contact with the group's choral coordinator.
Year Estab: 1988
Mission: To provide singers and instrumentalists the opportunity to read the choral chamber music of J.S. Bach and thus provide a gratifying ensemble experience as well as solo opportunities for singers and instrumentalists. In a typical session we read through a 'new' cantata, after rereading the cantata introduced in the previous session.
Emphasis: The choral music of Bach, mainly the cantatas, sung with a chamber orchestra.

Rehearsals: 2nd or 3rd Sunday of odd-numbered months (except July, when rehearsal moved to the last Sunday of June), 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., St. John's Episcopal Church in Montclair, 1707 Gouldin Road, Oakland
