Description: This is an amateur, community, recreational chorus.

Mission: The San Francisco Choral Society is a non-profit music organization dedicated to the support of choral activities in the Bay Area. We provide a music environment for a community of singers to perform major works at affordable prices to the public.
Emphasis: Major choral works of all periods--performed with professional orchestra and soloists.
Size: 180-250 range throughout the year
Concerts/Year: 6 concerts per year
Auditions: Yes. Held at Cole Hall, University of California, San Francisco three times a year: January, April, August. One need not prepare music. Section leaders and Assistant Conductor audition 6-8 in a group measuring such things as tone, pitch, range, intonation, vocal quality, memorization skills, sight-reading skills and blend.
Dues: $50-$60 per semester
Dress: Women: Black dress.
Men: Tuxedo, with white shirts.
Black shoes/no jewelry.
Rehearsals: Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Cole Hall, University of California, San Francisco, 513 Parnassus Street, San Francisco
