Description: This is a professional, special interest, early music ensemble, open to the general public. 50% of the ensemble is paid.
Year Estab: 1980
Mission: We are a group of vocal and instrumental artists dedicated to the performance of great and unusual masterpieces. While specializing in the Baroque, this critically acclaimed ensemble also presents works from the Medieval to the avant garde. This group offers many solo opportunities for its members.
Emphasis: Medieval to avant garde.
Concerts/Year: 12-20, including one Baroque or classical opera pe
Auditions: Yes, held in San Francisco by appointment year round. Auditions include a Bach aria of the singer's choice, something from the English or Italian Baroque, and a Twentieth Century art song in any language.
Dues: No
Dress: Formal concert attire.
