Other Information

History: Aurora Singers started with about 20 singers in the fall of 1988. Since then, the group has more than doubled in size, drawing members from as far afield as San Jose, San Gregorio, and Loomis. We rehearse weekly, on Tuesday nights, from September to June, preparing two programs. Out Winter concert comprises all styles and cultures. Our Spring program is always all-American: We explore all genres of American music, with a bias toward the popular music of this century -- show tunes, vocal jazz, and pop songs. We're a performance group. We strive for quality, and we perform often in December and May in retirement homes and Veterans' Administration hospitals, at weddings, or caroling in the streets, clminating in our benefit concerts for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto in appreciation for using its facilities. For more information contact Larry Dorety at (650) 969-1417. The Aurora Singers is happy to be celebrating our seventeenth year of sharing the joys of ensemble singing. We are also proud to have a sister choir, Assou Lezert Chorale of Albi, France, with whom we enjoy an exchange relationship. The Aurora Singers are looking forward to a return trip to Albi, France in 2007 to be reunited with their sister chorus Assou Lezert.
