Basic Information

Description: This is an amateur, community, recreational chorus, open to the general public.

Year Estab: 1998
Mission: College Chorus. To give students an opportunity to learn choral literature and student body a chance to hear choral music. To have chorus members learn teamwork and group responsibility.
Emphasis: Not determined as yet. In the Spring 1999 semester we have about 50% classical, 25% folk songs, 25% show tunes. Eventually I would like about 80% classical--split into numbers spanning centuries from renaissance to Contemporary. We sing with and without accompaniment.
Size: 20
Concerts/Year: 2--will increase
Auditions: Required. At first class session or by arrangement.
Dues: $6 per unit per registration fee (only one unit).
Dress: Long black skirt, trousers, white shirt/blouse. Use red carnations, ties for holiday concert.
Rehearsals: Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Mission College, Room MT 13, 3000 Mission College B oulevard, Santa Clara
