Description: This is an amateur, community chorus, open to the general public. Auditions for all parts are open: no pre-casting.

Mission: GSSSJ serves a broad, general audience with high quality productions of the works of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, and provides a forum for local performing arts, technical, administrative, and artistic talent in a community theater setting.
Emphasis: Full scale musical theater productions, with orchestra, of Gilbert and Sullivan, and other light operetta composers' works.
Size: 12-15 men/12-15 women per production
Concerts/Year: 3 major productions, with 6-8 performances each.
Auditions: Yes, held at the GSSSJ Rehearsal Hall, 971 George Street, Santa Clara, CA, 95050, held in June for the September/October show, October for February, and March for June. Auditions for leads include a number from a G&S show, plus a demonstration piece, if desired. Auditions for chorus consist of any piece that will categorize (SATB).

Dress: Costumes provided by GSSSJ.
Rehearsals: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. , GSSSJ Rehearsal Facility, 971 George Street, Santa Clara
