Basic Information

Description: This is a selective, educational chorus, open to the general public by audition. Our group is not only chorus, but musical theatre, which includes soloists and chorus.

Year Estab: 1968
Mission: To bring joy of music to all people, presenting the music of great composers.
Emphasis: The group emphasizes 19th century classical music, and modern American vocal music, as well as 20th century works such as those by Menotti, Rachmaninoff, etc.
Size: Between 20-25.
Concerts/Year: It depends, but no less than 12 concerts.
Auditions: Yes, held by appointment throughout the year at the Community Music Center, 544 Capp Street. Those auditioning are required to sing some scales with the piano, or an aria, or a song.
Dues: Flexible
Dress: Black and white. When participating in operatic productions, in costumes.
Rehearsals: Saturday, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or special days, Community Music Center or place of performance, 544 Capp Street, San Francisco/ or can be changeable
