Basic Information

Description: This is a non-profit, amateur, community, special interest educational musical theater group, open to the general public.
Year Estab: 1993
Mission: Harmony Players & Co. promotes, advertises, and encourages local talent to participate in all aspects of theatre arts, thereby providing a forum for the ongoing cultural growth of the comunity via education and presentation. Harmony Players & Co. believes that the education of young people is of prime importance. To that end we provide quality instruction and performance experience to any child who wishes to participate in our programs. Student participation at all age levels is encouraged. In our attempt to fill the void created by the demise of the fine arts programs in many of our public schools - and to guarantee that no child will be denied the opportunity to learn and perform due solely to financial need - we offer three scholarship programs: full, partial, and work-study.

Our Children's Theatre and Youth Theatre provide a forum for any young person eager to learn and perform. Their presentations include last year's production of The Wizard of Oz and this year's presentations of Snoopy, Tom Sawyer, and Little Shop of Horrors. Encouraging our young people to participate in the performing arts - and providing them with an outlet for self-expressions - is an important goal of Harmony Players & Co.

Harmony Players & Co boasts a diverse population, with members ranging in age up to 60-plus. They come from all walks of life, bringing a wonderful mix of experience, talent, and personalities. This reults in an ensemble that provides high quality performances that both look, and sound, professional.

Overall, Harmony Players & Co. provides musical entertainment through a variety of formats - from the production of Broadway musicals and reviews to 16th Century Elizabethan Madrigal Dinner performances - and we take pride in the fact that we now have a permanent home within the community we serve.
