Other Information

Discography: 1946. Historical tapes of the authentic miner's chorus. Available to the public through the Nevada County Historical Society.
Bibliography: The Union (October 1, 1998); Sacramento Bee; Sierra Heritage Hewell Houser's PBS program California Gold. Videotape. (1991). The group sang inside the Allegheny Mine.
Comments: Gage McKinney, an author, is writing a history of the chorus. We toured Cornwall in 1994-1995, including four oldtime members. Took an entire program of American secular and sacred music, such as sea chanteys, Gershwin, Virgil Thompson, etc. Every town in Cornwall has a chorus. There was a real community feeling. "
