Basic Information
Description: | We operate as semi-professional group, not open to the general public, but list the group as amateur, which keeps us out of higher donations, gives more shows for the girls, and keeps a small group happier. We do many things to keep us fresh. It is a private group, and we have fun. |

Mission: | A hobby for retired people. The singer must learn to listen and do the songs required in the repertoire. Any singer in the group has three spots. The group goes into many hospitals, convalescent groups, club groups, or theatre. They have been recognized as the only group of this kind. |
Emphasis: | Tuneful pieces from our youth and our grandmother's youth. The group stages a 1/2 hour show. Both satin and lace emphasizes the music and Victorian period. |
Size: | 35-40 |
Concerts/Year: | 25 or more. They never can tell. Calls are taken |
Auditions: | Auditions are held at the director's home, 5190 Crane Avenue, Castro Valley at any time. Call (510) 538-3118 for an appointment. Auditions require the singing of a scale and perhaps a song. |

Dress: | They are using Victorian costumes as needed. |
Rehearsals: | Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30/1:00 p.m., depending on shows., The group is notified, usually Trinity Lutheran Church., Corner on Center Street, Alameda |
