Basic Information

Description: This is an amateur, community chorus open to the general public. The chorus is part of the Diablo Valley College curriculum, and the chorus is open to all singers who qualify after an audition.

Mission: To afford singers the opportunity to learn and perform choral music with an orchestra.
Emphasis: The Chorale performs the full range of choral music with emphasis on classical.

Auditions: Yes, held at the College, with Mr. Kamprath, the Director, at the beginning of the year before the candidate joins. Auditions include the singing of scales for voice placement; the singing of America; some sight-reading; a brief interview with the Director. The entire chorus is re-auditioned every couple of years.
Dues: $40 per semester
Dress: Women: univform black dress; Men: tuxedo
Rehearsals: Monday, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Diablo Valley College, Music Bldg. Rm. 101, 321 Golf Club Road, Pleasant Hill
