Basic Information

Description: This is an amateur, community chorus, open to the general public.

This mixed-voice ensemble meets each Monday evening at 7:00-9:40 PM in the Choral Hall (A11). Under the direction of Stephanie Austin , the Chorale performs a wide variety of choral literature from the classics to contemporary. Each quarter, the Chorale performs at a major concert either on campus or at a local venue. Placement auditions are held during the first meeting of the class. Singers of all ages are welcomed, especially tenors and basses. You will find the Chorale listed in the schedule of classes as: Music 20.

Mission: This group educates students in proper choral techniques. It performs world-class music with high standards.
Emphasis: There is no particular emphasis. The group has a wide range, as long as the music is well-written and would have audience appeal.

Auditions: Auditions are reqired and are held in A-11 during the first class session at the beginning of the quarter. Auditions require a simple vocalise; interval and pitch matching.
Dues: $50 per quarter
