| Description: | Resounding Achord is a 45-voice mixed adult choir based in San Jose, CA. One of the core values of the organization is to produce accessible programs for wide audiences. Our repertoire ranges from early classical music to modern popular standards. |

| Mission: | To build community through song. To fulfill this mission, we work directly with educational and religious organizations to build up their music programs and assist their singers and students in any way we can. In addition to hands-on help, a portion of each of our major concert’s revenue is donated to a specific performance organization, be it a church, school, or other nonprofit organization. Much of our donations supply scholarships to young singers. |
| Emphasis: | We sing a variety of music from many different eras, styles, and countries. Much of the music we sing was written/arranged in the last 40 years. Some of the music we sing is arranged by members of our group. |
| Size: | 40-50 singers |
| Concerts/Year: | 2-4 concerts per year; other opportunities for singing in small groups at events |
| Skills Required : | Significant choral singing experience. Able to learn and memorize music on own. Confident enough to sing in an octet. Intermediate sign-singing skill |
| Auditions: | The main audition occur in August of each year; however, vacancies are filled in January. Contact Kristina at artistic@resoundingachord.org for details. |
| Dues: | No direct dues; however, singers pay for their own music (about $60 per year) |
| Dress: | Men in black shirts, black pants, purple ties Women in black, flowing pant suits with shell |
| Rehearsals: | We meet on Wednesdays from 7-9 pm at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 1205 Pine Street in San Jose. Guests welcome at our rehearsals, but please contact Kristina Nakagawa (artisitic@resoundingachord.org) if you plan to show up. |
