Mission: | Sacred and Profane is a small, primarily a cappella chamber chorus committed to the accomplished presentation of the rich and varied art of choral music. The ensemble aims to provide an inspiring and educational experience for chorus members as well as audiences, through innovative programming, intensive musical preparation, and high-quality concert performance. |
Emphasis: | Works for chamber chorus, mostly unaccompanied, both sacred and secular, from a diverse blend of styles and periods, with particular emphasis on Renaissance and 20th century music. |

Auditions: | Yes, held at First Unitarian Church of Oakland, 685 14th St., Oakland 94612, in August and January. Those auditioning are required to do vocalizing, ear/musicianship testing, and sightreading. |
